Peter Robinson explores the philosophical and etymological understanding of Nostalgia. British Graffiti: "nostalgia - things ain't what they used to be”.
For many Nostalgia refers to a longing for the past or even homesickness. We all feel nostalgic sometimes as we remember a particular event, or a person that we were once fond of and we reminisce, thinking or talking about the past. It's important to highlight that nostalgia is a noun, to reminisce is a verb. And then comes the history of the word and how it has changed its meaning. Enjoy this multi-dimensional presentation and share your moments of nostalgia.
Peter Robinson, outgoing MPS Events Director, is a familiar voice to listeners of KALW radio, a graduate of Cambridge University (UK), editor of San Francisco Books & Travel magazine, book reviewer for SF Chronicle, and author of "The Insight Guide to Provence."
